  2021-2022 Executive Board

Genesis Perez-Melera

Genesis came back to become a program coordinator for a summer research program for Boston high school students at Harvard Medical School in 2019. Returning home to give back to students like herself was incredibly rewarding for her. There was no other place to mentor and be mentored than at Harvard. After this summer, she spent the next year and a half as a translational research assistant at a laboratory at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center that focused on Pancreatic Cancer. Genesis hopes to pursue a career in medicine that is focused on teaching, mentoring and increasing the number of students underrepresented in medicine at prestigious institutions like HMS.
